The question everyone asks and hardly anyone asks out loud. Here are the price ranges for each part of a wedding in Spain, from the venue to the cake, so your budget starts with numbers rather than surprises. They are guide ranges: every wedding moves with the guest list, the date and the story you want to tell.
What moves the total most is the guest list, because catering is charged per head, and the venue.
Planning, design and coordination. If you are marrying in another country, this is who is there when you can’t be: they speak to suppliers in their own language, know the venues and save you trips, money and grief.
Cortijos, haciendas, palaces, country estates, small hotels. Many have rooms and space for both the ceremony and the party, so the whole day happens in one place.
The heaviest line, because it is charged per guest. At a Spanish wedding the menu usually includes the welcome drinks and canapés, the dinner with wine, the open bar, the staff, the set-up and the basic furniture.
What is left when the music stops. Look at full weddings, not just the Instagram highlights, and do a pre-wedding shoot: it is how you lose your shyness in front of the camera.
The film of your day, with the voices, the speeches and the music that photos can’t hold. Ask to see full films, not just the trailer.
The venue decides this one: a cortijo covered in bougainvillea needs far less than an empty warehouse. To keep costs down, choose the venue with the styling in mind and ask for seasonal flowers.
A guitar for the ceremony, a band for the drinks and a DJ to close: mix it however you like. If you need to cut back, keep live music for the key moments and a prepared playlist for the rest.
Many caterers include it in the menu. A bespoke cake costs more, and a fondant one more than a naked cake.
Do a trial first, even if it is the day before because you arrive in Spain only a few days before the wedding.
Spain has designers who make made-to-measure dresses in just a few fittings. And if the dress travels in your suitcase, light fabrics iron out without drama.
If the ceremony and the party are at the same venue and your guests sleep there, you save almost all of it. If not, there are coaches and transfers at reasonable prices.
Adding up the ranges in this guide, with one night at the venue and photography and film booked separately. With 150 guests, catering rises to €22,500–€52,500 and the total to €36,300–€110,800.
Without a buffer, every surprise becomes a drama.
Flowers wilt and the cake gets eaten. Photos and film are what you take home, so this is not where we choose on price. These are ours.

Catering: between €150 and €350 per guest. Then come the venue and the styling, which can reach €10,000 each.
It usually includes the welcome drinks and canapés, the dinner with wine, the open bar, the staff, the set-up and the basic furniture. Always ask how many hours of open bar the price covers.
It isn’t compulsory, but it helps: someone who speaks to suppliers in their own language, knows the venues and is there when you can’t be. Full planning costs between €4,000 and €9,000, depending on what it covers.
Usually yes, and each costs between €2,500 and €8,000. Before booking, ask to see full weddings. We work with Cupido Debe Morir, destination wedding photographers in Spain, and with Gearmedia for film.
With two numbers: how many guests and how much you can really spend, with a buffer of 10 to 15%. Then the date and the venue: without them there is no wedding to plan.
